Brunswick Youth Lacrosse programs are open to Brunswick residents and residents of towns that do not have an existing lacrosse program for your age and/or gender.  If you do not live in Brunswick, please ensure that you do not have a local option before registering.  All residents of MSAD 75 in grades 3 through 6 should register to play lacrosse through Topsham’s Parks and Recreation Department.

In the interest of providing the safest experience possible, preseason practices will be held outdoors in 2021.  While this is a change from our normal preseason, we’re excited about the possibilities that this change offers.  Practices will begin the week of March 15.

After April vacation we  practice twice weekly, with games typically played on Saturdays. The competitive season spans roughly 6 weeks, and two games are usually played each Saturday.  Local tournaments are on hiatus until venue restrictions are relaxed.

We play in the Maine Girls Youth Lacrosse Association. At this level we play a 7 v 7 format with goalie.

All girls’ eyewear must meet ASTM performance standard F3077 and be certified to be legal for play. Look for the SEI mark and check the SEI online listing for product certification.  A mouthguard, ladies stick, and cloth face covering are also required.  Cleats are recommended.  Jewelry cannot be worn on the field during practice or games. Long hair should be managed in a manner that keeps it away from the face and eyes.

While it is the case that by this time most participants have a year or two of experience under their belts, we’ve seen time and again that new participants pick up the game quickly and go on to flourish.  We welcome all skill levels as this level is about continuing to learn the game of ladies lacrosse. Just as with the 3rd and 4th grade program, it’s about learning the basic stick handling skills, positioning on the field, offensive and defensive strategies and playing as a team. It’s also about having fun!

Brunswick girls will be given preference. Girls from outside of Brunswick will be placed on a waiting list and if space allows can join on a first come first served basis.
